Based in Edinburgh, Martin Currie invests in international equities for clients worldwide. From its headquarters in Edinburgh, the company manages £5.0 billion (as at 31 March 2012) in equity portfolios on behalf of investment trusts, institutions, charities, foundations and pension funds.
Tom Walker is the Martin Currie director responsible for the management of Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust. He has 24 years' investment experience.
Tom joined Martin Currie in 1996 to manage Asia Pacific portfolios, before moving to head the North America team in 1998. Before that he worked in Hong Kong with Baring Asset Management, where he managed the Greater China Fund Inc and the Baring Hong Kong Fund. Before that, Tom spent six years with Edinburgh Fund Managers. Initially covering the UK and other European markets, he went on to specialise in Asia (ex-Japan) and became head of that team in 1991.
